Gone were the wrap-around indicators and nose resembled more of the mustang. In the base model Falcon Front disc brakes were now standard and power-brakes were available on some models. Inflation at that time caused the basic price to rise $216. GT Falcons now were fitted with 4 wheel disc brakes, the TV adds featured a sharp bright yellow GTcoupe being driven across a creek crossing and burnt orange 4 door GT at the race track to a tune of 'a great austrailian road car!'. To honour fords race car driver John Goss. A limited edition John Goss special coupe was released. This vehicle was painted the colour of the stripes first, being met green or blue, before the vehicle was then resprayed white.
