Falcon History

The XA Falcon

The XA was an all new Falcon launched in 1972. It was the first Falcon to be totally designed by Australians, as production of the Falcon in the US had ceased. It also marked the return of the Falcon hardtop, and the streamed shaped of the Falcon made this coupe the sexiest Australian car ever. Sadly though, the GTHO was to be no more, thanks to party-pooping politians, who merely saw it as a road-rage weapon. The XA was the biggest Falcon yet, with the boldest styling. The XA GT is the most unique of all the GT's as the guards and bonnett is like no other,we predict that in years to come a good XA will be very rare as some XA's were made with a sealing compound that turned to acid with moisture. not alone Thankfully they used this compound on Datsuns 200B's. Datsun 200B's boots have a big corrison issue. In 1973 Ford replaced the phase 4 GTHO Falcon [4 vehicles] that had been the victem of political pressure and media claims of 160mph supercars with the XA GT RPO 083, 131 sedans and 129 coupes were constructed. These vehicles entered the market place with no fuss or advertised claims, only people in the know knew of its existence. Not so now, a RPO 083 is the next prize to a collecter to park beside that phase 3 XY GTHO Falcon.
